Mastered the mix to its release target.
A mastering engineer prepares a finished mix for release. Working from the single stereo mix handed over by the mix engineer, the engineer shapes the recording's overall sound and level, setting equalization, loudness, and true peak, then sequences the tracks and embeds the recording's metadata. The result is a format-ready master, delivered as a digital file, a vinyl lacquer, or a disc set. That master then passes to distributors and pressing plants. The engineer gives the music its final, release-ready form.
