visual-art:retoucher

Corrected the image to meet a condition standard.

A retoucher corrects an existing image to meet a condition and finish standard. Working in software such as Photoshop, the retoucher evens skin tone, balances color, dodges and burns, and removes blemishes and stray distractions, handing back a finished file that keeps real texture. The work arrives as a frame the photographer made, chosen by a photo editor and shaped to an art director's brief. From here the corrected file moves to a master printer and on toward release. The retoucher brings the made image to its intended finish.
