Selected images from the contact sheet.
A photo editor sits with a photographer's full take, the whole set of frames from a shoot, and chooses the few that become the work a viewer sees. From hundreds of images they select the strongest frames, crop and size them, and sequence them into a finished story or book. The raw frames arrive from the photographer. The chosen images then pass to a retoucher, a designer, and a master printer. This trade builds a new whole through its choosing and arrangement.
