The machine-learning engineer builds working models and the systems that run them. This trade takes a model out of the research notebook and makes it serve predictions at scale, writing the training code and the serving setup that keep it reliable. The work begins from a product goal, a chosen technical approach, and a prepared data pipeline. The finished model then passes to people who test and deploy it. What this trade adds is a new model and the running system that carries it into use.
