music:lyricist
Wrote the words of a song.
A lyricist writes the words of a song. From a brief, a story beat, or a finished instrumental track, the lyricist shapes the verses, the hook, and the lines a listener hears sung or rapped. The result is a complete lyric, a written object in its own right. A beatmaker or producer often supplies the track upstream; the finished lyric then passes to the composer who sets it to melody and to the singers who perform it. The lyricist makes the words.
