A stunt coordinator is an experienced action specialist who plans and directs the physical action of a film. Working from the script and the director's wishes, this person designs each chase, fall, and fight, builds the rigging and rehearsal plans, casts the right performers, and sets the safety limits the action follows. The coordinator receives the scripted beats and the director's intent, then hands a finished, drilled plan to the stunt performers, riggers, and editor. Their distinct contribution is the designed shape of the action.
