film:set-decorator

Sourced and placed existing furnishings and props to dress the on-camera environment.

A set decorator leads the team that dresses the spaces a camera films. They read the script for each character's taste, then gather furniture, lamps, rugs, art, plants, and small clutter from rental houses, shops, and custom makers. Working from the production designer's concept and the art director's built rooms, they arrange these pieces into a finished, lived-in environment. The dressed set then passes to the on-set dresser, who keeps it steady during filming. Their contribution is a believable world built from chosen, placed objects.
