Tracked continuity on set against the script and prior shots.
A script supervisor tracks consistency on a film set, where scenes are shot out of order over many days. Each take is compared against the screenplay and against shots already filmed, matching dialogue, props, wardrobe, hair, and screen direction. The work produces a lined script and continuity notes that show which takes cover which lines. The screenwriter and director supply the script and blocking; the editor receives these notes and assembles them into one continuous film. This watchfulness holds the story together.
