film:re-recording-mixer

Balanced and combined dialogue, music, and effects stems into the final soundtrack.

A re-recording mixer is the sound engineer who, in the later stages of post-production, blends a film's finished audio into one soundtrack. On a dubbing stage, working against the locked picture, this person balances dialogue, music, and effects and positions each sound in space for the release format. The dialogue editor, composer, sound designer, foley artist, and production sound mixer supply the elements; the finishing artist and distributor receive the completed track. This trade adds the single balanced whole the audience hears.
