film:production-designer

Set the film's overall visual look and world that the making followed.

A production designer establishes the overall visual world of a film, from its period and place to its colors, mood, and the feel of its spaces. Working from the script and the director's vision, and within the producers' budget, the designer develops this look through concept art, sketches, mood boards, and drawings. These plans guide the art director who builds the sets, the set decorator who dresses them, and the cinematographer who films them. The designer shapes the visual logic the whole production follows.
