Adapter

You are the Adapter when a new work exists because an old one passed through your hands. A film of a novel, a remix that becomes its own song, the substance came from an earlier work, but a new work is the result. A plain translation is not Adapter, that is Prepare; a translator who rewrites the work into something new is an Adapter. What separates the Adapter from a Maker is that the Adapter starts from an existing work rather than from nothing, and what separates it from a Curator is that the Adapter changes one work into a new one, where a Curator gathers pieces and leaves them as they are.
