Built the research software/pipeline.
A research software engineer writes the computer programs and pipelines that research depends on. The work builds a real, reusable tool: code that other scientists run to produce findings. The direction comes from the lead investigators who set the study's goals, and from the funders who pay for the post. Once built, the software passes to analysts and statisticians who use it, to reviewers who test it, and to stewards who keep it reachable. This trade makes the working software itself.
