Sowing Discord for Iterative Discovery:AI Roundtables Built on Friction

Chris Macek, Co-Founder, Clear BoxOctober 27–29, 2026 · Online, On Demand

This simple experiment starts with a community podcast question. An audio engineer and an oral historian bring different priorities, challenge each other’s assumptions, and improve the plan through discussion. You coordinate the conversation and decide what makes sense. Try it on a simple question, then scale it to the work you need to do.

Two chat windows side by side, one labeled Engineer and one labeled Oral Historian.

A 10-minute walkthrough of a roundtable I recorded earlier, showing how different perspectives changed the proposal and what I learned while coordinating it.

Run your own roundtable

Two ways in, same method.

Each download is a folder with everything you need, including the Expert Grounding Card and the coordinator manual. Start simple, then go deeper when you're ready.

Simple roundtable method · Draft

You run the roundtable, one chat per expert.

The draft used for this demonstration. Open a chat for each expert and have it research its field with the card before sharing your project question. Then copy and paste their answers between chats and decide what holds up.

An agent coordinates. You make the calls.

The fuller approach for people comfortable with agent tools. A coordinator agent has each expert research its field before receiving the project question, then runs the rounds. You make the calls at each step.
